This morning we will be discussing mathematics in a Montessori Adolescent environment. After reviewing the foundations of Geometry, the class will begin creating spiral designs. Students will also continue practicing their Algebra skills by identifying what they know and what they do not know by following their math organizational charts. We will discuss summer reading assignments during our grammar workshop (The Old Man and the Sea, The Pearl, Watership Down, The Hobbit, Dove, and The Alchemist). In the afternoon, we will be organizing the whole of human history. We will also go over our humanities planning document and prepare for our Naked Egg experiment. Your homework for tonight is to read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. We will have a seminar tomorrow to discuss the text and to practice our seminar skills.
