Today flew by! Steven and I worked on discovering the midpoint formula using a rubber band, while the older students focused on a new lesson about parallel lines and perpendicular lines. Today’s writing workshop was successful. What makes a person powerful? Student’s responses led to a discussion about power in George Orwell’s 1984. The younger students shared how power is represented in Lois Lowry’s The Giver. Our writing workshop ended with writing tips from George Orwell himself. We are going to keep Orwell’s tips in the front of our minds. We also spent some time today preparing the menu for the overnight and work on the timelines.
