Invictus

We celebrated Nelson Mandela’s dedication to peace and equality this morning.  The students learned about his life’s struggles and victories, then we read and analyzed his favorite poem, Invictus, by William Ernest Henley.  The remainder of the day was devoted to the students’ poetry books, vocabulary, a literature seminar on The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry,Timeline of Humanity investigations, and work on the Humanities term paper.  Happy Friday.  We’ll see you next week!
