Probability and Radiocarbon Dating with Ms. Jen

Here we are in the lesson Ms. Jen is gave us with the 6th years. We learned about carbon-14 and half-lives.

We used pennies as the carbon-14 and put them in a cup. We shook up the cup and poured out the pennies onto the table. We took out the pennies that landed heads up because they had “turned into nitrogen.” For our trials we used 25 pennies, 100 pennies, and 50 pennies. We counted out the ones that landed heads up and marked them down on a piece of paper. We then graphed a line that showed how many carbon-14s had changed. This activity was super fun! Thank you Ms. Jen!
