Week in Review: Friday, January 5

It has been a great first week back! The students are beginning to find their groove. Here is how 2018 kicked off.

Mathematics: Algebra Bingo, simplifying radicals, substitution method, fractional exponents, math seminar

Language: discussion of “Fake News”, digital literacy, tips for writing newspaper articles, DIDLS (diction, imagery, details, language, syntax) with a focus on sentence structure, labeling sentences with the advanced grammar symbols

Humanities: Seminar on our definitions of civilization, The lighter side of the Dark Ages, group project planning

Expressions: Introduction to stop-motion animation, The physics of sound, The Spectacular World of Strings exhibit at the Sheldon Theater

Micro-economy: The Persuaders film, Marketing research methods

Community: Spring trip planning, movie night prep, yearbook
